Senior Software Engineer

Our solutions provide a competitive advantage for the DHL Group by collecting and processing data from approximately 35,000 connected devices in DHL retail stores across Germany. To enable these stores to provide postal services and sell products, we develop and maintain software products ranging from stationary point-of-sale systems to mobile solutions. Because our work directly affects the customer experience in DHL retail stores, product quality is essential

Your responsibilities

• Analyze and translate business requirements into maintainable technical solutions.

• Design and develop new business features and user interfaces for the mobile application using .NET MAUI.

• Create solution designs for new components and contribute to architectural decisions.

• Develop prototypes and proof-of-concepts to support technical and architectural decision-making.

• Write clean, maintainable, and testable code, including unit tests and automated system tests.

• Review code, refactor existing components, and promote clean-code practices.

• Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve engineering productivity and quality.

• Share technical knowledge, mentor colleagues, and gradually take on greater technical leadership responsibility within the team.

• Contribute to architecture discussions and cross-team alignment.

• Drive continuous improvement in engineering practices, development processes, and the team’s use of AI tools.

• Share responsibility for sprint outcomes, product quality, production support, and the ongoing maintenance of the software.

What we expect from you

• At least five years of professional experience developing production-grade mobile applications, preferably for Android.

• Proven hands-on experience with C#, .NET, and .NET MAUI in production environments, including modern mobile UI development. Practical .NET MAUI experience is mandatory.

• A strong software engineering background, including system design, clean code, refactoring, automated testing, and maintainability.

• Experience with Git and Visual Studio.

• A strong understanding of business requirements and the ability to translate them into technical solutions.

• An analytical mindset and a structured, solution-oriented way of working.

• Experience working in an agile environment, ideally with Scrum.

• Strong communication, documentation, knowledge-sharing, and mentoring skills.

• The potential and ambition to grow into a technical leadership role in the medium term.

• A collaborative mindset, a positive can-do attitude, and the flexibility to work in an international, hybrid team.

• A strong sense of ownership for team outcomes and product quality.

• English proficiency suitable for daily collaboration in an international team.

Nice to have

• Experience developing cross-platform applications for both mobile and desktop environments.

• Experience with Microsoft Azure and cloud-based or service-oriented architectures.

• Experience using AI-assisted software development tools in a professional environment.

• German language skills at B2 level or above.
